EQUO Chair

EQUO Chair: The first sustainable swivel chair with removable covers and backrest mesh

With EQUO, Bene is bringing a new dimension of sustainability to the workstation. For the first time, all heavily used elements, such as the backrest mesh and seat covering, can be removed, cleaned and replaced by the end customer without the need for any tools.

The new do-it-yourself modular system

EQUO has set a new benchmark with its innovative and resource-efficient design. The modular design by Simon Schoßböck allows individual components to be replaced, which helps extend the lifespan of the swivel chair. The removable mesh backrest and seat cover make care and maintenance easy while also ensuring a higher level of hygiene. In addition, the look of the chair can be customised at any time without compromising on comfort or aesthetics. The swivel chair can be purchased in various colour combinations. The frame and mesh are available in black and stone white. Matching fabrics for the covers can be selected from Bene’s entire portfolio.

Sustainable material use

Another outstanding feature of the EQUO chair is the efficient use of materials: The development process involved a careful analysis of the material thickness required of the various materials to create an optimal product. Special attention was given to the different requirements of the backrest and the backrest support. The backrest has been designed to be lighter, while the backrest support is more robust to ensure the necessary stability. The separation of the two components also allows the height of the backrest to be adjusted so that all users can find the optimal ergonomic setting for them. This makes EQUO an excellent choice for offices with desk sharing.

Made in Europe

Of the many ways that EQUO stands out, it is especially worth highlighting its sustainability and environmental friendliness. All components are sourced from Europe and fully traceable, right down to the screws and plastic granulate. Short delivery routes also contribute to low CO2 emissions. This is all part of Bene’s strong commitment to local production, short supply chains and sustainable business practices.

High ergonomic standards

The height-adjustable backrest can be intuitively adjusted even while seated using a ratchet system. This eliminates the need for additional lumbar support, making EQUO still more user-friendly. The flexible plastic backrest is designed to ensure freedom of movement, increase sitting comfort and promote a healthy posture even when seated for long periods. The backrest of the swivel chair goes beyond a single dimension of support: it can be moved in three dimensions to promote dynamic sitting that is easy on the back.

Schossboeck.design

For Simon Schoßböck, good design requires a holistic approach: the right design to match the style of the brand, the right manufacturing processes and materials, plus appropriate functions and ergonomic aspects for the relevant market segment. Good design takes many factors into account and ultimately contributes to the success of the product.
